Bank Careers

There is an opinion that working in a bank is very prestigious and that employees of credit institutions in any position are well-earned people. Well, there is some truth in this opinion, but it concerns those who began their careers in the bank, did not stop at difficulties and continued to climb up. But, of course, customer service specialists cannot expect some huge salaries. However, it all depends on the bank, but still working with money does not mean that it will be yours.

Work in the bank can be divided into two conditional types: work with clients and work in the back office, where operations are processed.

  1. Work with clients. Clients are priority for the bank, as well as for any other organization, employees should not be rude, they should comply with a high service level and sell to clients as many banking products as possible. Therefore, if you want to work in a bank, ask yourself if you can smile at your customers all day, comply with the quality standards adopted by this bank and at the same time fulfill sales plans. In some banks, the functions of an employee working on streaming operations (withdrawing money from accounts, paying for some services, etc.) and a sales manager are divided. Of course, each employee of the bank should know at least a minimum of information on each of the products and be able to offer it to the client, but still such a separation of powers is more effective. The service specialist should be diligent, know how to perform certain operations and quickly do it. A sales manager must be able to sell products and do cross-sales. To perform these two functions, completely different people are needed: you can’t make a hyper active person do monotonous work, as he or she will quickly get bored, but at the same time you cannot force a person inclined to monotonous work to work in an active sales environment;
  2. Work in the back office. This is a place where accountants, specialists in emissions, currency control, etc. work. As a rule, to get “inside” a bank, you are required to have not only desire but also banking education (exceptions may occur). Many employees, starting their journey with customer service managers, continue their careers in the back office.

A bank is a gigantic beehive in which there is room for the realization of everyone’s ambitions. Work with clients, active sales, banking, claims work, lending, work with securities, currency control, etc. – there are so many options that they can’t even be counted! Therefore, start your career in a bank but first of all decide what place in this friendly family you want to take!
