Hannaford Data Breach

Merchants Bank is aware of the Hannaford data breach. According to the company’s press release “Hannaford has contained a data intrusion into its computer network that resulted in the theft of customer credit and debit card numbers. No personal information, such as names or addresses, was accessed.”   

Merchants Bank has been informed about cards that may have been compromised. We are communicating with affected customers. We have not had any reports from our customers of fraudulent activity related to this breach. We will work with customers who may wish to request new cards. Concerned customers may call our Customer Service Call Center at 1-800-322-5222. All customers are advised to monitor account activity for irregular transactions. 

Merchants Bank is working continually to protect our cardholders. We will continue to monitor our card base for unusual activity and real-time reporting of transactions that are “out of the ordinary” for our cardholders. We are confident that we will manage this process with minimal impact. Thank you.
